For many, digital citizenship embraces every fear they have about our children being in cyberspace. But if we're wise, we'll use digital citizenship to create the digital lifestyles and communities that reflect what's best in us. After all, we want students to learn how to use technology not only safely and responsibly, but also with a sense of inspiration and opportunity.
This webinar presents an overview of digital citizenship, its origins, its many facets and how it plays out in school systems. We take an in-depth look at its connections with character education, and how character education should be used to provide a foundational approach to the many issues associated with digital citizenship. In particular, we consider Character Education Partnership’s 11 Principles, and how they might be adapted to students living a digital lifestyle.
Jason will go over classroom activities as well as practical strategic planning options to advance digital citizenship in your school and district.
