Engaging Assessment with Kathy Perret October 13

Why is assessment so motivating for kids in games, and so demotivating in schools? How can we use assessment to drive effort and achievement? In this Edchat Interactive, Kathy will discuss how to use assessment as part of the learning process, both to inform and motivate learners. She will cover ways for students to take ownership of their learning at any age. Her strategies include giving students the opportunity to address how they learn, guiding them to want to learn, and asking questions along the way to determine how to apply what they learn. Based on her many years of coaching teachers, Kathy is sharing a varitey of approaches that teachers can easily replicate to engage students through assessment.
